The Department of State (DOS) has released the September Visa Bulletin. This is the last Visa Bulletin of the fiscal year and historically dates have retrogressed or become unavailable as the visa allocation for the year is exhausted however, this year, due to the large number of visas available; 262,288 compared to 156,253 for the last fiscal year, that did not happen. Dates continue to remain current for all categories and for all countries except EB2 and EB3 India and China and those categories moved forward or remained steady. India EB3 saw the biggest jump forward of another 6 mos. to Jan 1, 2014. If your priority date will become current in Sept. and your I-485 is already filed, you could expect an approval in September as the USCIS tries to use as many visas allocated as possible before the end of the fiscal year. The USCIS recently introduced a policy change relative to the expiration of medical exams in order to help toward this goal.
